ETHICS (Ethical Integrity Corporate Standard S.A) is based in Switzerland and delivers business ethics Certifications to organizations worldwide. ETHICS SA has offices in Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.

EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

 

Pascal T. Borel, Founder and Executive Chairman


Pascal Borel has a strong track record as a co-founder of successful start-ups focused on value enhancement strategies. Some of these companies are now ‘listed’ or have been sold to ‘listed companies’. Before creating ETHICS SA, Pascal worked in the financial industry distributing fund performance measurement software as co-founder and Managing Director of Standard & Poor’s Micropal Switzerland, Managing Director of Standard & Poor’s Micropal France and of Standard & Poor’s Micropal Luxembourg. This activity led Pascal to create Statpro (Statistical Analysis Software) London, UK, LISTED as a co-founder, Managing Director and member of the board. Pascal was a co-founder and Non Executive Director of Harcourt Investments, active in Hedge Fund Portfolio management mostly for Pension funds, sold to NIB, Vontobel, LISTED. Pascal was a co-founder and Non Executive Director of Fondcenter (Fondvest) sold to UBS, LISTED. Pascal was the Director of Fidelity Investments International Geneva responsible for the distribution of Fidelity Funds in the largest private banking market in the world as well as to the Swiss French sophisticated pension fund market for 4 years. Pascal was a Director at EIM European Investment Manager Switzerland responsible for the distribution of Hedge Fund portfolios to the Swiss French market. Pascal acted as Non Executive Director of yearly Investissima Fair Palais Beaulieu-Lausanne, Non Executive Director of Equitys Switzerland and is co-founder and President of the board of Blue Star Advisor Switzerland and President of the board of Sotramar S.A. Switzerland. 

Pascal is co-authoring a book on ‘The Applied Neurophysiology of ETHICS’ to be published. He is a passionate sportsman with 9 participations in the reputed ‘Verbier - Grimentz’ mountain bike race and 6 participations in the ‘Patrouille des Glaciers’ elite ski and mountaineering race. Pascal is married with two children and resides in Switzerland.


Theodore Petrara, Chief Executive Officer

Theodore Petrara is a Partner in ETHICS SA, and serves as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining ETHICS SA, Theodore was a group executive with Flagstone Reinsurance Limited, a publicly quoted (NYSE: FSR) global re/insurance company and asset manager with USD 4.5 Billion in assets under management. Before joining the founding team of FSR, Theodore was managing partner of Peconic Management Services, Inc (N.Y.), a funding service partner to the hedge fund industry. Prior to launching Peconic Management, Theodore held several roles in capital markets, trading, and funds management, including global head of convertible bond trading and senior portfolio manager and head of fixed income for Greenfield Arbitrage Partners and BSN-Icahn Partners, both investment subsidiaries of Bear Stearns Companies. Before embarking on a career on Wall Street, Theodore was a decorated U.S. Marine and served honorably with Marine Recon units at the force and battalion level. 

Theodore was a doctoral student in Philosophy and Logical Systems at the University of Florence, and studied for a B.Sc. (Physics) and B.A. (Philosophy) at the State University of New York, and was a National Merit Scholar. He is married with 2 children and resides in Switzerland.

 

Dr. Magali Modoux, Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Magali Modoux is the Chief Operating Officer for ETHICS SA and is responsible for the entire certification cycle, including the development of ETHICS standards and guidelines, and all training and management of ETHICS SA audit staff. Additionally, Magali is responsible for managing internal compliance and firm-wide operational controls across ETHICS SA and ensuring that the firm meets both the ETHICS 21 and ISO 17021 standard requirements. 

Prior to joining ETHICS SA, Magali was a senior consultant and analyst with Challenge Optimum, a consulting firm based in Switzerland and specialized in management systems and reengineering. There she was heading the Certimedia department, in charge of advising media companies on their management and quality issues. She personally provided consultancy and audit services to more than 50 media companies in all continents. Concurrently, she headed Challenge Optimum training institute on quality management systems.

Magali Modoux received her Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP - "Sciences Po Paris"), Master’s in Political Science from the Free University Berlin, DEA (Research Master’s Degree) in Comparative Politics from IEP, and a PhD in Political Sociology from the IEP. She is the author of the book Democracy and Federalism in Mexico (Paris, Karthala, 2006). She is a frequent speaker at quality standards and governance conferences and is widely published on related matters in both the private and public sectors.

Magali enjoys drawing, painting and cooking, and resides in Switzerland with her family. 


Brigitte Borel, Head of Finance and Administration


Brigitte Borel manages all finance and administration, including human resources, for ETHICS SA, and is a member of the founding team. Prior to joining ETHICS SA in 2008, Brigitte worked for a decade for Credit Suisse AG. As a group executive (Director) and senior manager, she managed the Credit Suisse Real Estate and Services Department for western Switzerland. She was responsible for strategic planning and for the management of the branch-based real estate of Credit Suisse Group (buildings used for the own purposes of Credit Suisse, Bank Clariden Leu and Winterthur Insurance), including all transactions (buy/sell/lease), construction projects, and the supervision of all external partners, ensuring the facility management for all of western Switzerland for the bank. Her department was also in charge of the physical security, archival document storage systems, internal post, and in-house client services. Brigitte was also the lead representative for Credit Suisse in its membership of the “Conseil de fondation” of the Geneva Football Stadium during its construction. Credit Suisse was the main sponsor with an investment   of CHF 80 Million. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Brigitte was a certified real estate agent and qualified appraiser (expert). In this capacity, she managed a large portfolio of commercial buildings in the French speaking part of Switzerland, as well as real estate brokerage and appraisal work (for a total of 7 years). Brigitte began her career in the field of private security.

Brigitte Borel is a graduate of the University of Lausanne from which she has a degree in Business Administration and Economics. She is an avid skier and mountain biker, and enjoys diving, trekking and spending time with her young family. Brigitte resides in Switzerland with her husband and two children.

 


Issam Kabbani, Head of Strategy and Business Development


Issam Kabbani has almost 3 decades of experience in new business development and operational management in international business across almost all industry sectors. Prior to joining ETHICS SA in 2010, Issam was a partner at Tack International, which he joined while holding a consulting role for Accenture. He has held various CEO and COO roles in mining, real estate, FMCG, telecommunications, and Fortune 500 business consulting in Europe, Middle East, and Latin America. Issam Kabbani is an industry recognized expert in change management and performance benchmarking and management. His successful entrepreneurial track record includes numerous business seeding and incubation activities, and he has participated in bringing to market many novel new companies and products, including GESCO AG and Springboost SA. Issam currently serves on the boards of several companies, both public and private, and is active in two charitable foundations.

Issam Kabbani was awarded Masters Degrees in both Economics and Business Management from Webster University, and successfully completed the Program for Executive Development (PED) at IMD, Lausanne. He has a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the American College of Switzerland. Issam is an avid sportsman and horseman and is a polo enthusiast. He enjoys fine dining, film, and is an avid reader and student of history. Issam resides in Switzerland.

 

Marco Corelli, Head of Planning and Coordination



Mr. Corelli is Director of Planning and Coordination at ETHICS SA, and is a member of the Executive Committee. In his role, Marco is responsible for project planning, coordination, and management as well as for developing and managing operating efficiencies and reporting platforms across the entire ETHICS SA universe. In 2006, Marco joined PVD Consulting Ltd, as a Director, and was responsible for project planning and product roll-outs within the luxury goods, fine watches, and wine industries. In 2008, Marco joined Brulhart & Company, a private equity and venture capital firm based in Switzerland. At Brulhart & Company, Marco assumed the role as global head of Project Management and Planning, where he directed the post-investment process and coordination and integration of various properties and businesses within the Brulhart portfolio of companies/assets. In 2010, in partnership with Hope Group SA, Marco founded MC Project Management Sarl, employing cutting-edge techniques in project management and new business development and business incubation. As CEO, he lead many different successful projects in racing/motor sports (Le Mans LMP1), commercial real estate, business development, and numerous events.

Marco Corelli obtained his Masters Degree in Political Science at the University of Lausanne in 1998, followed by a Masters Degree in Military Science at The Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich in 2000. From 2000 to 2006 he was a professional officer within the Swiss Army. He subsequently continued his training as General Staff Officer in 2004, and currently serves in the Swiss Army as Lieutenant Colonnel. He enjoys hunting, skiing, and mountain sports, and resides in Switzerland with his wife and 2 children.
